Photojournalist
Growing up, I was always attracted to photography, and kept up the hobby as I explored other avenues professionally. Eventually I began focusing more on my photos. I began with film, and have since moved on to shooting digital.
Today I work as an engineer and a photographer. I have a passion for both fields, and often draw inspiration from one while working in the other. Photographically, my work falls mainly in photojournalism focusing on people and places.
When photographing people, I take a fun, easy-going approach. I am always striving to make my subjects feel comfortable and at ease, so I can capture spontaneous moments of honest feeling and expression. Whether it’s the sheer joy of a kid after scoring a goal while playing football, or the look in a person’s eyes that conveys all the emotions of the moment.
When shooting places, my approach is more thoughtful and deliberate. I take my time in composing each image, drawing from my technical background to interpret a building’s design and attempt to represent the true nature of the space as it exists.
After making thousands of images, I love that photography is still as powerful and magical for me as ever. The chance to freeze time and capture a moment is truly a special treat, and I am always looking forward to my next opportunity to make some beautiful images.
